We have bold ambitions for the future of Lambeth’s communities and residents through our Lambeth 2030 Plan ‘Our Future, Our Lambeth. To deliver on these ambitions, we have embarked on our transformational One Lambeth Programme, ensuring we are ‘connected by purpose’ in everything we do to deliver excellence. We are proud to have recently developed a refreshed set of One Lambeth Values and Behaviours that were developed for staff by staff - Equity, Ambition, Kindness and Accountability. About the Borough:

Located in the heart of South London, Lambeth Borough is a vibrant community of over 317,600 residents. Stretching from the dynamic neighbourhood of Streatham in the South to the iconic landmarks of Waterloo in the North, we are proud to be the 9th largest borough in London. Our diversity is our strength, with more than 130 languages spoken, making Lambeth the home of the Windrush generation, London's largest LGBTQ+ community and a thriving Portuguese-speaking community.

With exceptional schools, lush green spaces including Brockwell Park, cultural gems like the Black Cultural Archives and world-renowned institutions such as St Thomas's Hospital, Lambeth offers an enriching and dynamic environment.

About the Team:

You will join the Public Health Team - which has over 50 people from a variety of disciplines - and sit as part of the Senior Management Team. Within the Public Health Team, you will be part of the Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) and HIV Team which has approximately eight full time staff. The SRH/HIV Team work across the full spectrum of sexual and reproductive health and HIV to reduce health inequalities and improve outcomes. The Lambeth team leads the commissioning of sexual health and HIV services across Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham, Bexley and Bromley (LSLBB) local authorities and SEL integrated care system (ICS). There are opportunities to develop your career aspirations in a supportive environment.

About the Role:

Our work has been underpinned by LSLBB’S Sexual Health Strategy 2025 – 2030 that addresses our population’s needs on healthy and fulfilling sexual relationships, good reproductive health across the life course, high quality and innovative STI testing and treatment and living well with HIV, we are now working on a refreshed strategy to take this work forward across the 5 Boroughs that we lead the commissioning for and this role will be able to influence and develop our ambitious vision to respond to the needs of our communities. We want an eager commissioner to join us on this journey.

You do not need to have knowledge or experience of sexual health services. While desirable, you’ll learn the subject area on the job and soon you’ll be talking about LARC and PrEP easily alongside us. What we most want is someone with commissioning or procurement experience and transferable skills – performance and project management, data monitoring, modelling and analysis, relationship management and exceptional communication skills. Conscientiousness, proactiveness and a hunger to learn and lead are behaviours that will put you in good stead for this role.

You’ll know that we are commissioning with less money and within a challenging financial environment.  A drive to work efficiently within a fast-paced environment is required. The workload is heavy and ever-changing and you’ll need to churn through it but there is never a dull day. You will feel rewarded working with services and programmes truly dedicated to providing high quality and responsive services to the people of Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham, Bexley and Bromley.
