Capital and Investment Accountant
Enfield Council
Reference: RES-002718
Enfield is an ambitious Council, with an ambitious Council programme, with budgets exceeding £2Billion over the next 10 years.
Enfield Council has its sights firmly fixed on creating a better borough. We’re regenerating industrial estates, increasing social housing, including the flagship Meridian Water programme, making the London Borough of Enfield an exciting place to work.
The Capital and Projects team is one of 3 consolidated finance teams, which provide a comprehensive finance service to the Council. The Capital and Treasury team is responsible for the financial management of all capital programmes which includes significant Housing development programmes including Meridian water. The management of the Council’s Treasury function, investment in its Subsidiaries and Joint Venture, also falls under the remit of the team.
As our Capital & Investment Accountant, you will draw on your CCAB qualification (or active progress towards) and strong background in finance to provide high‑quality financial and commercial advice across a portfolio of high‑profile capital and investment projects, including support to the Council’s wholly owned subsidiary, Energetik.
You will play a leading role in the development of financial appraisals and business cases, applying robust modelling techniques, such as discounted cash flow (DCF), sensitivity and option analysis, to assess project viability, risk and return. Working closely with Strategic Property colleagues and senior stakeholders, you will support capital budget management and project performance monitoring, ensuring forecasts, variances and financial risks are clearly understood and effectively managed across the project lifecycle.
With a strong analytical mindset and attention to detail, you will deliver clear, evidence‑based insights to Boards, senior officers and external partners, while operating with a high degree of autonomy across complex and evolving project environments.
