Lead the Shift to an Employer-Led Skills System

Local London is establishing a new sub regional Sector Hub as part of London’s move toward a more employer led skills and employment system, set out in the Mayor’s Inclusive Talent Strategy and the Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP).

This is about creating a more coordinated, responsive system — where employer demand shapes provision, pathways and investment decisions, and where residents can better access good jobs.

The Sector Hub will act as the central coordination function across boroughs, providers, employers and partners, working closely with the GLA, Sector Talent Boards and Pan-London Sector Hubs.

We are now recruiting an Employer Engagement Manager to lead this work across Local London Sub Region.

Employer Engagement Manager - Local London Sector Hub – What You’ll Do

You will lead and manage the Sector Hub, driving a coordinated and employer-led approach across the sub region. This will include:

  • Leading and managing the day-to-day delivery of the Sector Hub
  • Coordinating employer engagement activity across boroughs and partners
  • Translating employer demand into aligned system activity and priorities
  • Working with GLA Sector Talent Boards and Pan-London Hubs to align delivery
  • Managing a small team of Employer Engagement Officers
  • Driving performance, reporting, data and evaluation activity
  • Building strong partnerships across boroughs, providers and employers

About You

You are confident operating across systems and partnerships, with the ability to translate strategy into delivery.

You will bring:

  • Experience of working with employers at a strategic or senior level
  • Strong understanding of the skills and employment system
  • Experience of working across multiple organisations or partnerships
  • Ability to coordinate activity and influence without direct authority
  • Experience of managing delivery, performance and outcomes
  • A clear focus on improving access to opportunities and outcomes

About Us

Local London is a sub regional partnership representing nine London boroughs: Barking & Dagenham, Bexley, Bromley, Enfield, Greenwich, Havering, Newham, Redbridge and Waltham Forest.

Redbridge Council acts as the accountable body, and staff are employed on Redbridge Council terms and conditions.

Why Join Us?

  • Lead a high-profile programme shaping London’s employer-led skills system
  • Work at the centre of a new sub-regional model with real influence
  • Build partnerships across boroughs, employers and the GLA
  • Help create a more coordinated and effective system for residents and businesses
