What You’ll Be Doing
The Lettings Officer is responsible for the delivery of the housing letting process from tenancy termination, through shortlisting, offer, verification and viewing stages until the property has been let within the timeframe as set out in service performance indicators and in accordance with the Council’s rehousing policy.
To maintain monitoring systems and regularly produce performance reports from the Council’s IT system. To manage the provision of social housing in accordance with the Council’s policies and procedures and relevant Government legislation including making informed decisions about housing applications.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Standard DBS.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping residents access safe, secure and suitable housing and who shares Camden's commitment to putting residents at the heart of service delivery. You will have experience working in a busy, target-driven housing environment, with a good understanding of the Housing Act 1996 Parts VI and VII, relevant housing case law and housing allocations processes.
You are proactive, organised and solutions-focused, able to manage competing priorities while maintaining high standards of accuracy and customer service. You communicate clearly and confidently, building positive relationships with residents, colleagues and partner agencies. You take the time to understand residents' circumstances, providing advice and support with empathy, professionalism and care.
You are committed to making services accessible, transparent and easy to navigate, always striving to achieve the best possible outcomes for residents. A collaborative team player, you value partnership working and recognise the importance of listening to residents and involving them in decisions that affect their housing needs. Above all, you are motivated by making a positive difference and helping Camden remain a place where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
