About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Child Missing in Education (CME) team as an CME Officer. You will provide the local authorities statutory duties in relation to CME whilst leading in the tracking and locating of children of statutory school age believed to be missing education. You must be confident in communicating with people across all levels of seniority, willing to travel across the borough and have excellent communication skills. You will need to carry out a number of background checks and provide reports. You will be a key contact for schools in the submission of monitoring school starters and leavers.  

Previous experience of working as a Child Missing in Education Officer or related profession is desirable. Experience and knowledge of the statutory responsibilities and relevant legislation when working with children, young people and their families is required within CME and education background. You will need to be enthusiastic, committed to the values of education and be able to organise your work efficiently and effectively. Full supervision and training will be provided.
