About Camden

To carry out labouring, driving and cleaning duties on housing, public buildings and other premises either owned or managed by the Council in accordance with best trade practice and to current standards and regulations.

To assist craft workers (trades) carrying out repairs and maintenance work ranging from emergency and other routine reactive repairs on numerous sites daily to single site programmed repairs and refurbishment work in occupied and void properties.

Maintenance work requires an adaptable approach to be taken in the delivery of services to tenants, leaseholders and other customers. 

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require a Basic DBS.

We're looking for a reliable and Labourer who enjoys working as part of a team and takes pride in delivering a great service. You'll support skilled tradespeople with repairs, maintenance, and refurbishment works across occupied and void properties.

You'll have some experience in a maintenance, construction, or property environment, along with a good understanding of building trades and safe working practices. You'll be able to work using your own initiative, communicate effectively with customers and colleagues, and manage your workload to meet service standards. We're particularly interested in candidates who:

  • Have experience working in a maintenance or construction environment.

  • Have a strong commitment to health and safety.

  • Can use handheld technology to receive and update work information.

  • Provide excellent customer service and work well as part of a team.

  • Share our commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
