What You’ll Be Doing / How You’ll Be Involved
The Repairs Manager - Awaab’s Law will support the operational delivery of Camden’s response to hazards that fall within the scope of Awaab’s Law. The role will help ensure that cases are progressed from initial referral and triage through inspection, make-safe action, remedial works, resident updates and closure, with clear records showing that statutory and internal timescales have been met.
The postholder will combine good technical repairs knowledge with practical supervision of trade staff. They will work closely with planners, repair operatives, surveyors, specialist teams and contractors to support a safe, timely and consistent service for residents. The role is operational and supervisory, with responsibility for coordinating day-to-day activity, checking quality and escalating risks where required.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require an Basic DBS.

You’ll bring a strong background in repairs, maintenance or housing property services, with the technical knowledge and practical experience needed to help deliver Camden’s response to Awaab’s Law. Whether through a recognised trade qualification or hands-on experience, you’ll understand responsive repairs and be confident identifying and managing issues such as damp, mould, leaks, ventilation problems and other housing defects.
We’re looking for someone who is organised, proactive and able to coordinate multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. You’ll have experience supervising trade operatives or coordinating repair activities, ensuring work is completed safely, to a high standard and within required timescales. You’ll be comfortable carrying out inspections, assessing quality, producing clear records and communicating effectively with colleagues, contractors and residents, including those who may be vulnerable.
You’ll have a good understanding of health and safety, quality assurance and the importance of accurate record keeping in regulated services. Strong IT skills and the ability to use repairs and case management systems are essential to supporting effective service delivery. Most importantly, you’ll be committed to providing a responsive, resident-focused service, working collaboratively with others to ensure hazards are addressed quickly, risks are managed appropriately and residents are kept informed throughout the process. A willingness and ability to travel across the borough to attend inspections and support operational delivery is also important.
