Salary range: £36,153 - £38,361 per annum inclusive of London weighting
Contract: Permanent
Hours of work: 36 hours per week
Location: Civic Centre and other locations from time to time

About the role

Join our Business Support Team and play a vital role in helping services across Children, Young People and Community Development operate effectively. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised and customer-focused professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, supporting colleagues, managing key administrative processes and helping to deliver high-quality services for children, young people and families. In the role you will develop valuable experience working with a variety of council services, stakeholders and partner organisations, helping to broaden your skills and career opportunities.

In this role, you will:

  • Act as a first point of contact for the service, handling enquiries, correspondence, calls and emails professionally and efficiently
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support, including arranging meetings, preparing documentation and taking accurate minutes
  • Manage a range of financial processes, such as raising purchase orders, processing invoices and supporting payment administration
  • Maintain accurate records, databases and spreadsheets, producing reports and supporting statutory returns where required.
  • Work closely with colleagues, partners and external providers to resolve queries, improve processes and ensure services run smoothly.
About you
We are seeking a highly organised and professional individual who:
  • Has experience of delivering high-quality business or administrative support within a busy and demanding environment
  • Can manage competing priorities, organise workloads effectively and consistently meet deadlines
  • Has strong digital skills and is confident using Microsoft Office applications, databases and information systems
  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills and can establish positive working relationships with a wide range of colleagues, partners and stakeholders
  • Has strong minute-taking skills and can produce clear, accurate and timely records for corporate, business-as-usual and sensitive meetings, capturing key discussions, decisions and actions with appropriate discretion
  • Works with a high level of accuracy and handles confidential and sensitive information with sound judgement and discretion
  • Is proactive, well organised and committed to improving processes and service delivery continuously

This role provides a strong foundation for career development.
