  • Shape the Future of Adult Social Care in Hillingdon

Are you ready to take the next step in your commissioning career and play a role in transforming services that make a real difference to people's lives?

At Hillingdon, we are reimagining Adult Social Care to meet the opportunities and challenges of the future. We are investing in innovation, prevention, Technology Enabled Care, market development and new ways of working that help residents remain independent, connected and in control of their lives.

We are looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic Assistant Commissioner to join our Adult Social Care Commissioning Team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in commissioning, contract management, project delivery, social care or service improvement who is looking to broaden their skills, influence change and develop a rewarding career in public service.

    The Opportunity

As an Assistant Commissioner, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for shaping and improving services for some of the borough's most vulnerable residents. Working alongside experienced Commissioners and Senior Commissioners, you will gain exposure to every stage of the commissioning cycle and contribute to projects that directly influence how care and support services are designed, delivered and improved.

This is a role for someone who is curious, analytical and motivated by making things better. Whether supporting service redesign, reviewing performance data, developing business cases or engaging with providers and partners, you will play an important role in ensuring services deliver positive outcomes and value for money.

You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of commissioning priorities, helping to develop innovative solutions, strengthen provider relationships and support strategic programmes that improve residents' wellbeing and independence.

    What You'll Bring

We are looking for someone who sees opportunities rather than obstacles and enjoys working collaboratively to solve problems. You may already have experience within Adult Social Care, commissioning, contracts, procurement, project management or a related field, but equally important is your ability to learn, build relationships and think creatively.

You will be a confident communicator who can analyse information, draw meaningful conclusions and present ideas clearly. You will be organised, proactive and comfortable managing competing priorities, while maintaining attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes.

Most importantly, you will share our commitment to improving services and making a positive difference to residents and communities.

    Why Hillingdon?

This is more than a job; it is an opportunity to build a career in one of the most influential areas of local government. You will be working on projects that shape future services across one of London's largest boroughs, gaining valuable experience in commissioning, transformation, market development and strategic planning.

You'll join a supportive and collaborative team that is passionate about innovation and committed to helping colleagues grow and succeed. Whether you are looking to strengthen your commissioning expertise, broaden your experience or progress into more senior roles, we will provide opportunities for professional development, learning and career progression.

If you are looking for a role where your ideas matter, your contribution is valued and your work has a lasting impact on local people, we'd love to hear from you.

Join us and help create the future of Adult Social Care in Hillingdon.
